Plymouth Avita offers a touch of sparkle, a dash of halo, and loads of softness! This Aran weight yarn is light in hand because of its braided sparkling lurex and nylon core mixed with blown-in alpaca fibers to create a unique yarn construction. Depending on your level of sparkle needs, go with a dark color for high contrast sparkle or a light color for a more subtle sparkly blend. This glamorous yarn is excellent for garments and accessories, featuring simple stitches and elegant lace details.
My favorite yarn shop is Coveted Yarn in Gloucester, MA. I love to go and sit and knit. The owner, Robert Porter encourages knitters and crocheters to come in the shop and chat, knit, crochet and share ideas etc. Very welcoming atmosphere. I especially like to go on Saturday afternoon with my friend Sharon.
I am from Jacksonville, Florida, but my favorite yarn shop is Asheville NC Homecrafts in the Grove Arcade. I have been stopping by once a year to see Marie, and buy some of her fabulous yarn. Her local yarns are absolutely incredible. I cannot say enough about her kindness and friendliness. That, plush great products, make one FABULOUS yarn shop!
I live in Mobile, Alabama, and we have one single lys in our entire area. The name of said shop is Mobile Yarn. The owner, Heidi, is absolutely amazing. She has taught me everything I know about knitting, and instilled in me a love for fine yarns. And of course my top 2 favorites are Plymouth yarns! I have so many people interested in me teaching them, and all because of Mobile Yarn and Heidi.
My favorite all time yarn store has since closed, Knitting Today in Wolcottville IN. This is where I learned to knit and she still has the business just not a store. My second favorite yarn store is The Loopy Ewe in Fort Collins CO. I do not live anywhere near there but it is my go to store and whenever I am near it I make a stop to see all the wonderful stuff.
Love teaching new students and watching their progress. I took the class on how to teach knitting offered through the CYC years ago and have taught lots of girls and adults. My favorite store in the area is Needles in the Haymarket. Great owner and nice inventory of many of my favorites yarns.
Knitty City in NYC is my go to LYS. The staff and owner Pearl, are knowledgable, helpful, and friendly. There is a tremendous selection of yarns. I know I will always receive the help I need with any project at Knitty City.
I live in the small town of Winfield Kansas. There is wonderful yarn shop there called iYarn. Every Saturday morning a group of ladies bring their current projects and bond around our discussions of fiber and life in general. We also started a guild that meets once a month to learn new techniques and try new things. Sometimes we een do a knit-a-long. They are lots of fun.
I happened upon Quintessential Knits in Duvall, WA during the annual Puget Sound LYS Tour this year, and have fallen in love with this yarn shop! The variety and quality of yarn is intoxicating and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I always find inspiration for my next knitting projects as I cross the threshold. I even learned how to knit brioche this past summer by taking a class there.

In Alturas, CA we gathered together a Temperature Afghan Group. Some knit, some crochet and everyone is creating beautiful and very colorful afghans. The temperatures range from below zero in the winter to above 100 in the summer which results in crazy color ranges. We gather at a local historic hotel, have lunch, visit, and create. Carol from Personally Yours is our cheerleader and provides a wonderful range of Encore yarn for the projects. 041b061a72
